Long Island has been in the corridors of almost all major turning points of American history, including the Civil Rights movement and the desegregation of baseball. Babylon’s Cuban Giants was established as the first Negro League Team, and it’s players, such as “Sol” White, went on to desegregate the minor league forty seven years before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball’s major league.
All are invited to this family presentation.
Registration for Babylon patrons begins online, by phone, or at the Circulation Desk Thursday, January 17. Out of district residents may begin to register Thursday, January 31. A valid library card is required for registration. One person per library card.
